In 1723 a group of Christians formed an ecclesiastical society to worship God in what was then known as Canada Parish. For almost three hundred years, the Hampton Congregational Church has stood as a community of caring, faith and tradition.

In celebrating our diversity and freedom as Christians, we pledge our faith in the words of Jesus:

     "You shall love the Lord your God,with all your heart,
       your soul and your mind;
and your neighbor as yourself."
                                                Mark 12:30-31

With the Gospel of Jesus Christ as our foundation, we gather as people of God. We strive to enhance the lives of both children and adults through preaching, teaching, sacrament and the development of Christian spirituality and fellowship. It is our goal to carry on Christ's teachings of love through our support and compassion for all people in our community and throughout our nation and the world.

We welcome prospective members from any kind of religious or nonreligious background...and we do so with joy as partners in the common life of this church and the greater Hampton community. We promise you our fellowship and prayers as we share the hopes and labors of the whole Church of Jesus Christ.

We are eager to help local people. Our congregation continues a longstanding tradition of outreach and benevolence. The major recipients of our time, talents, outreach goods and funds are:

  •  Local people in need
  • Covenant Soup Kitchen
  • Windham Area Interfaith Ministry
     (WAIM)
  • No Freeze Hospitality Shelter

We support a variety of local and national charities and also sponsor Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and 12-Step Programs.
